The Hybrid WordPress Theme Framework

Justin Tadlock, one of my favorite WordPress Theme Developers, has released his Hybrid Theme Framework. Hybrid comes with an incredible 13 custom page templates including an experimental prologue-like quick-post template. 13!

    hi Ian, I’ve been watching both you and Justin go through the process of developing your theme frameworks and I’m equally impressed and grateful to what both of you are doing for the WordPress community.

    I’m really looking forward to the official release of WP 2.7 so the concept of child themes will spread. I’ve said this before but I’ll say it again, thanks for everything, you guys seriously ROCK!

    Thanks for the link back, Ian. Yep, 13 is an insane amount of custom page templates, but I just couldn’t help myself.

    I actually have a few ideas about why page templates should be used more often, especially when we start talking about child themes and 2.7. Maybe I’ll have a post up in the next week or so about this.

    @Marti
    Thanks for the kind words.

    As usual I a big big fan of both you guys. It’s the reason I decided to become a WordPress addict following your extremely rapid development over the past year, which is way ahead of the curve of let’s say most “premium” theme developers.

    I have been playing with Hybrid in its beta stages and actually found time to install it as child theme today which was simple as apple pie. Have a lot to digest, but I certainly have never seen anything like it, very impressive and quite a bit to digest just using all of its features, mind bloggin-ing.

    Thanks JT and the other guy that runs this blog.

    @Ian
    Either you and Craig have an inside joke going or I’m becoming more popular than you on your own blog.

    Most people don’t know this but “the other guy that runs this blog” is my real given name. Ian Stewart is just a pseudonym I’ve been using online.

    I too am a Tadlock addict. I haven’t had time to try out Hybrid, but I will be trying out now. :-)
