Cheers Helga. Your suggestion worked, it looks like it just didn't refresh - thank you.

I've got Firebug too.

Thanks for the help, I think I'm getting the hang of it...

Tim.

it looks like you have already managed to change the #leader div to a light bluish color. hope that is what you were after. do try firebug, it will help a lot.

Hi Helga

Thanks for getting back to me. Does the #leader refer to the large headings on posts and/or the "feature" on the front page?

If so, that's what I'm after. Although I added the code you suggested at the bottom of my style.css and didn't get any change:

#leader{
background: green;
}

Thank you,
Tim.

i think you are looking to change the colors on the body and on #leader

body {
background: red;
}

#leader{
background: green;
}

but then again, i can't really tell what you mean by 'sections'. for any questions pertaining to CSS you should http://www.getfirebug.com for firefox.

Hi guys

Question from a newbie here so I hope it's not too stupid to ask...

I'm using the 'Feature Site' Child Theme and would like to change the background colours on each different "section".

Much like on the ThemeShaper home page where there are effectively stripes of different colours across the website (beige, grey, black, yellow, white, black).

I worked out how to change the Header, Body and Footer separately by adding bits at the bottom of the style.css but can't work out how to edit the other sections. I think they may be the "asides" but, as I said, I'm new to this...

Any help much appreciated.

Tim.

Hi Judi,

try:

#primary.aside {background: red;}
#secondary.aside {background: red;}

in your child theme's style.css.

Hi Just wondering on the basic thematic template how would I change the background colour in the sidebar instead of using plain white?

Thanks
Judi
