well #1 and #2 are frowned upon b/c we don't like to touch the thematic files and generally think it is better to keep all your changes in your child's folder. cheers! and don't forget to mark as resolved.

Thank You helgatheviking

Thats what I actually ended up doing in the end and works fine. Just wanted to make sure their was no specific way of doing it,

#3

then your import will look like

@import url('layouts/2c-r-fixed.css');

if you are only bringing one over you don't need, perforce, to put it in a special folder.

@import url('2c-r-fixed.css');

you don't need to even put it in a separate file. i've read there are performance benefits to reducing the number of stylesheets your site loads. i copy the layout into my style.css and hack away.

Hi Guys,

Just checking here before I do anything.

I have a child theme folder developed. The STYLE.CSS file is pointing to a basic layout:

/* Apply a basic layout */
@import url('../thematic/library/layouts/2c-r-fixed.css');

HOWEVER - I do not want to use the 2c-r-fixed.css as it is. I want to slightly adjust it, should I:

1. edit the ../thematic/library/layouts/2c-r-fixed.css directly?
2. Create a new LAYOUT file and store it in ../thematic/library/layouts/ also?
3. Create a new Layouts sub folder under my child theme, duplicate the basic layouts into that folder and edit there?

Whats best practise for this?
Aidan
