FYI: Decided to use all-in-one until I find something more lightweight.

I was using all-in-one-seo which was overkill for this specific problem.

seo-title-tag was just right, but has been abandoned.

Still looking.

well they are controlled by 2 different functions in thematic (thematic_doctitle in the header-extensions and thematic_postheader_posttitle in the content-extensions), so they aren't coupled at all even though they do by default mimic each other. which plugins did you try? the SEO plugins that do exactly this didn't seem so bad to me.. and certainly easier (imo) than writing my own code.

How can I decouple the post title which appears within the <body> and the doc title which appears within the <head>?

I've tried several plugins, but they are either overkill, or they are not upgraded to 3.0.

Is there a way to do this with Thematic? (I've been able to do everything else ;)
