<description>&#60;p&#62;Using the &#34;display:none&#34; css property you can get rid of the author name, but you are left with annoying &#34;&#124;&#34; symbol as that is built into the &#34;hooks-filters.php&#34; file. So I think the only way to get rid of it is to override hooks-filters with your own custom functions.php file. I don't know that for sure. &#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;Additionally, with thematic 0.8 and WP 2.7 any custom functions seem to screw up the entire site. I'm still figuring out why.
