&#60;p&#62;Thanks for your help. After you posted your answer, I did some more digging and found my specific problem.&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;I imported my posts into WordPress from Movable Type, and in that process, the user-to-comment association got wiped out. Because of that, my comments never received the &#34;bypostauthor&#34; selector.&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;After updating the comments table with a SQL query, things look perfect.&#60;/p&#62;

<description>&#60;p&#62;I was wondering how hard it would be to conditionally add a CSS class to a comment for styling if the comment author matches the post author. &#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;I know there are plug-ins that are supposed to do this, but it seems like it should be fairly easy to accomplish either in the child theme functions, or in the Thematic core.&#60;/p&#62;
