Ok .. got it.

You have two options. You could embed the style changes into the <head> section. Or you could create dynamic CSS using PHP:

http://www.digital-web.com/articles/generating_dynamic_css_with_php/

thanks Chris. sounds cool - i look forward to seeing it. regarding the CSS thing, i mean that if you make an option to change the text color (i had a colorpicker script working too), what is the best way to go about feeding that info to a style rule that will override what is in the stylesheet?

I created an Options API class, which needs some final work. It is controlled by one array, creating as many options pages as you need, almost without any additional code.

Need to get Thematic through the Theme Review first.

Could you provide some more details about the CSS thing?

What is the status on the Thematic plugin? Am I correct in assuming that its goal is/was to create a beefier options page? I don't know how to make a plugin, but I've been building some stuff off of Devin's Options theme that might be helpful. Especially if 1. there is already a plugin structure in place and 2. someone tells me the best way to dynamically change the CSS.
