Hi,
first of all - great forum you got going on here! I was somewhat supprised about the great support I got. As soon as I am able to contribute myself I sure will.
Just a basic question here. How would I go about adding/changing widgets in my samplechildtheme www.ojas.kamst.com ? Do I simply use the wp-dashboard for that under 'appearance/widgets' and when I do so will they brake when the parent theme 'thematic' gets updated or are they stored in a child theme folder?

widgets are widgets, they aren't related to the theme except that the theme defines the 'areas' where you can place widgets. they aren't stored in a folder at all... when you add them in the back-end of wordpress their location is stored in the database. they will not break when you update thematic.
