Child style.css creates broken template upon 1st save

    Hello there... This is really strange. I move the example child theme folder up from the themes/thematic/ folder and activate the template in the WordPress interface just fine. Then, I open style.css, make a change, undo the change and then save, which causes the template to break (showing the "Template is missing" message).

    I've been using thematic for several months now and this is the first time that I've had this problem. I've wasted several hours trying to get it to do what, before, was automatic. Could this be a problem with the latest version of WP????

    Hi,

    sorry .. did a test with the current WordPress 2.8.6, but I can't reproduce this behavior.

    That's too bad as it's driving me crazy! Do you know if having multiple installations of WP on my local drive could cause issues? I currently have 6 sites going, but only this latest one is having issues with the child template.

    This shouldn't be the problem. I'm running the development blog, three blogs for doing support, a WPMU with several sub-blogs and a copy of my private blog on my local machine.

    Is your system running on Linux? Had some strange effects on my Linux system caused by copying WP directly to the direcctories instead of using a FTP client.

    I have 3 running without a problem, it really sounds like a problem with your editor.
