Just went wild researching why all of a sudden after my upgrade of thematic my child theme wouldn't work anymore...
Then i remembered that the child's parent is now called thematic.0.9.5 instead of just thematic!
So, if your child theme isn't working anymore after a thematic upgrade:
adjust your template folder from "thematic.0.9.5" back to "thematic".
Just thought it might help someone with the same issue.
