   Hi all,

   In my playing with Thematic, I have found the most time consuming and painful part to be styling sf menus.

   I'm thinking how excellent it would be to (i) have a fully documented sf menu css, and (ii) having a page where we people donate and share sf menus, even with a picture of what they look like.

   In this way, the menu work could be like a module, or perhaps even have a dedicated style sheet?!

   Everything from a simple single level menu, to the same with color change on mouseover, thru to advanced 2,3 and 4 level colored menus, even including background images !!!

   Wow!

   Anyways, I shall now be quiet and await hundreds of responses...

   Im new to Thematic and wp in general, but i must agree with you on that point. Styling the sf menus is in fact time consuming.
   However, instead of a sf menus dedicated page I was thinking in a "tutorial, how to, tips and tricks" whatever you want to call it section, where we share our knowledge or how we achieve something. I think it benefits the community to have this type of information centered in one place where people could refer to first in case of trying to accomplish something like "how to have related topics with thumps at the end of the post" or " how do I integrate twitter", etc.

   And sorry Robo for somewhat hijack your thread.

   You are not wrong in that the menu can be complicated for someone who is new to CSS.

   What you suggest WOULD be helpful to future thematicians (those that use the search feature anyway) so might I suggest that when you are done with your menu that you post it and document what you do to solve whatever issues you face? I don't think I have any really stellar menus, but i'd be willing to add mine to the collection.

   Sure, great idea. I think that thematic really needs to provide dedicated pages on this site to contain all this stuff. Searching forums for info on how to do all these various tasks is so last century :-)

   Pages:

   -- sf-menu theming
   -- Moving stuff around on your theme (columns, home buttons, menu bars, ...)
   -- Information ordering (changing post order, filtering post categories, ...)

   Another 2c worth.

   currently I'm in contact with Gene, talking about this Wiki / FAQ site.

   I can host this site on a thematic4you subdomain.

   Before I start, I would like to hear some suggestions, how we should structure this site.

   And I would like to see, who commits to work on this project.

   I think it could be broken down by what aspect you want to work on. For instance, say I want to customize the menu... I envision there being a bunch of different snippets that do lots of menu tasks. snippet for adding a home link, snippet for enabling wp3.0 menus, snippet for custom menus, snippet for category menus, adding a search bar to menu, etc. Another section might cover static pages, another comments, another templates, another enabling jquery, certain plugins, etc.

   A lot of these snippets exist already for sure... and if you do some due diligence w/ google and the search functions you can find them. I have personally answered the same question on how to move the thematic access to above the #header 3 or 4 times. There are lots of thematic snippets showing up all over the web, but it would be cool if there was sort of a central repository for them. Even just taking the snippets you and Gene have posted in the forums and compiling them all would be a huge resource.

   Hi,

   in this case we don't need a wiki. I can create additional author accounts for programming.thematic4you.com. The posts can be stored under a certain category and we can create additional tags to fine tune the search results. The posts would have author details with backlinks to their blogs plus an additional link to a possible original post on their blogs.

   The wiki can be used for the upcoming documenting.thematic4you.com, that will hold the documentaions for all that filters, action hooks and so on.
