Thanks for the kind comments. The TOC I suggested is just basis for discussion and I'm happy it's getting feedback. The important thing is to find a way for all of us to quickly find solutions to recurring issues and let the forum take care of the troubleshooting and improvements.
I'm watching with interest the events at themeshaper.com. I guess we'll all have to wait and see.
I am willing to help. I am just learning about thematic but I am a trainer, educator in css, html, information architecture and user experience. Learning about each framework and themes is a challenge. It is something I have experience for almost two years.
My goal would be so anyone just getting started can go to a page and find a step by step guide on how to do something. (Pictrix your outline rocks!)
As most forum exist today you have to dig and then decipher what to do. It happens in most of the frameworks I have study.

Update: We have begun the process of moving to a new domain and hosting. Chris is moving into a new flat this weekend. We are getting closer to documentation nirvana.

I too am willing to help. There are lots of great bits and pieces around, and it would be awesome to have all information in one place.
I have some experience working with thematic on a bilingual site using the WPML plugin (recently went premium, but the free older version still works). I would be glad to offer any help I can.
awesome. as you can see this post is a bit old, it has been really slow getting thematic to its new home. but gene told me yesterday that the domain transfer is finallllly done. so maybe now there will be some movement. we're a little reliant on Gene and especially Chris to get things set up initially. i am hopeful that after that we'll still have some new peeps on board for expanding the docu. in the mean time you can help out by answering forum questions! you'll be amazed at how much you will learn in doing so.

I am working on a presentation for Chicago WordCamp about User Experience on documation of themes for the dev track. I am doing a bit of research and will be happy to contribute my findings.
haven't heard anything in a little while. might have to start harassing gene again. i know they were doing some tests on how to export these forums to the new site, close threads, delete ancient members, etc.
when is wordcamp chicago. i wonder if i will still be in town.

sorry .. Gene fixed a couple of bugs in the WordPress Wiki plugin and wrote some additional code allowing a kind of 'self promotion'. Awesome!
And I spent some time to get rid of a filter that is hooked into the_content(). This filter can't be removed using the WordPress API, due to the way the WordPress Wiki plugin is programmed.
It could be much easier and less time intensive, if everything would work as expected.

thanks! i do right now (lincoln park area) but probably will not by then. i'm a little nomadic and also training for the pan-am games, so that keeps me moving about the world.
