  1. I'm building a site with Thematic (duh) and for the most part, it will have no resemblance to a blog. Next up I'm about to create the footer....but (also note I'm new to both WP and Thematic) from what I'm understanding with the whole concept of a Framework system, I am not supposed to alter the footer.php file located in /thematic/ correct?

Can someone please direct me where I can find out how? I've checked out other child theme examples....many of them have their own footer.php in their child theme directory, but how do you get the system to choose that file over the default file in /thematic/ ?

Help would be great - thanks.

If that's the way you've chosen to go then just create your own footer.php and it's loaded automagically if it's present.

  3. Ok thank you - that's what I thought.

But why do you say "if thats the way you've chosen"? Is this not the typical protocol?
