home page automatically redirects, help!

Well I think I broke wordpress.

I was styling away on my local wp site (mirror of live site) and decided to add an 'asdf' page with the parent being another page in my menu. I saw it, thought ok.. then removed the page.

Now every time I go to the root of my site, I am automatically redirected to www.mysite.tld/page/asdf/ .. now i'm thinking, what the hell?

I tried adding the page again and then re-deleting it, the problem is still there. gosh.

Does anyone have an idea on how I may troubleshoot this?

are your Reading Settings set to display that page as your home page?

Yes. When I clicked on my 'Home' tab, I was directed to the root of my site as usual, after that however I was redirected to this other page.

I didn't find a solution and ended up copying my stylesheet and manually copying the content of my pages onto my live site and then copying that site back to my local mirror. All is working now, however it was a very weird occurrence, had me stumped.

Checked index.php - normal
Checked reading settings for correct page - normal
Checked site url & redirection - normal
Deleted my front page and recreated with another name, then set that to my front page - Didn't work.
