   So, I was feeling pretty pleased because I successfully created a Thematic Child theme and I uploaded my own header image. Admittedly, my layout still looks primitive, but those felt like small victories.

   Except that...

   over at the left of my banner image, the text of my blog title and subtitle still show up, in a small font, superimposed on my image.

   I presume I want to leave them in the code somewhere, for search engine reasons... but how can I disappear them from my banner image?

   I've tried reading forum posts and tutorials, but I'm stumped.

   Wow, thank you so much for your speedy response!

   Now that I have the computer to myself again, I tried adding your suggested bit in to my header CSS.

   Here's my current, edited header CSS:

   line-height:54px;
   font-weight:bold;
   letter-spacing:-1px;

   color:#fff;
   text-decoration:none;
   position:absolute;

   It doesn't seem to make a difference. The words are still there. But I also realized that those words that are superimposed on my header image aren't just plain text. They are a clickable link to my blog front page. Which seems like a pretty good idea, if I could just reposition it. LIke maybe to a button next to the "About" button that's already there. And then I could call the new button something like "Blog Front Page". Would that be possible?

   Oh, wait. Never mind ... it's all OK now. That text/link disappeared.

   This whole process is kind of mystical, Key Master!

   but thank you again for being there, and for answering endless basic questions!
