How to add images on the index

    Hi!
    I've searched for this without success--sorry if it's been asked before!
    Wondering how to show images on the index page? Or to add thumbnails?

    I'm not an expert, but what kind of images and where? I've been adding images to some parts of my site with the "background" or "background-image" css property. For thumbnails I've been using the NextGen Gallery plugin. Have to play with it a bit to get the thumbnails to display as you want, but works pretty well for gallery style thumbnails.

    Thanks for the reply.

    Images in the actual post appear, but on the index page they don't. I'd like for them to show on the index page as well, or at least add a thumbnail picture under or next to the post titles on the index page.

    Any ideas?

    I'm using the Wordpress Featured Image to accomplish this, have you considered this approach?
