How to add widget area underneath navigation menu?

Is there a way to do this? Would like to use the widget area for an Adsense banner. Any ideas would be much appreciated. Thanks.

take note that in the definition the widget's location is defined by its HOOK. so you'll want to change the one in the example to move your widget to the place you want.
