I've been learning Thematic over the past few days, and so far it's been super easy to understand and figure out, but one thing has me stumped. Before going on to the problem, check out the site mockup I'm working from here:

As you can see in that image, the layout is 3 columns, so I'm using the 3 column layout in Thematic via the sidebars. However, the featured/splash image is intend to take up the width of two columns, and that's a confusing thing to fit into to a mixture of the main text and the sidebar.
I have tried solving this via css, but I'm still confused about where to insert the div tags necessary to pull that off. I'm going to keep searching for an answer to this independently, but any help on how to do this would be greatly appreciated!
