This may not be a Thematic issue, but none of the standard WordPress solutions work, since I can't find the related directory.
Where do images go when the site owner uploads them through the admin interface?
I'm using a plugin called WP-Cycle that has its own upload interface, but I'd have thought these would go to the same directory.
Regardless of what the images are for, when I try an upload, it doesn't go through. I think that's a permissions issue, but I don't know what dir. to check.
