Hi-
I am not going to be using my site as a blog, but rather a static website. I am using a child theme called the gallery theme (no connection to the gallery software am using). I would like to set-up a way so that when you click on one of the category links no posts show up and instead I want to embed the Slideshowpro gallery viewer. I was thinking I can just place the code in the category template php file and then create a new template for each category (I only have four). Should that work or do you think I can embed the code in the html portion of the category in the dashboard? Also what code should I remove so that no posts show up when you go to a category page? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Oh, one more thing: if I want to remove the rss link where is that? I couldn't seem to find it in the code.
Thanks
Jill

Have you looked into using a plugin for the slideshow?
A quick search returned this

Hi Jill, did you get SlideshowPro to work with wordpress? From thei own wiki http://wiki.slideshowpro.net/SSPfl/UG-EmbedInWordPress I came across the Kimili Flash Embed plugin http://kimili.com/plugins/kml_flashembed . I'm using SlideshowPro Director for my images so after setting up a crossdomain.xml file.
For calling single images I have used the SlideshowPro Director Connector http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/slideshowpro-director-connector/. Also can be used as a cool widget to show thumbnails of x amount of images.Posted 3 years ago #
