Hello: I have created a thematic child theme and been trying to add 'Home' menu to the menu tab bar. I currently have two menu items
1. About and \
2. Recipe Index.
I would like to place 'Home' menu before About.
Can anyone suggest how i can do that ?

Create a custom menu in wordpress 3.0+. then add a custom link. assign said menu to "primary" location.

One more question...
How do i create a Container which would contain assign, header, main content, side bar, primary and secondary asides. Can you please share on how do i go about doing that ?
Reason i want to do that is so that i can change the background color of the site without affecting the colors of (assign, header, main content, side bar etc.).

I tried to create a custom menu but it doesn't give me the option to choose "primary" location. When I add the custom menu, it wipes out my other menu links. Did I do something wrong?
what? yes of course it gives you the option to choose which menu goes in the primary location.
when you set a custom menu it uses that menu instead of the list of all "pages" that is uses as a fallback. you'll need to add them to your menu if you still want them in it
