   :) so i was using power blog to play around and learn and i found a post here that told me how to target the css for a specific page template.

   .template-page-fullwidth-php, #content {width:988px;} ?right.

   so i did that, and it appeared to work, but when i switched the template of that page back to default, the width was still 988 and over lapping the sidebars..

   any idea?

   There is a formatting error in that CSS, there shouldn't be a comma.
   

   .template-page-fullwidth-php(,) #content {width:988px;}

   Should be.
   

   .template-page-fullwidth-php #content {width:988px;}
