    Ok so I am travelling along nicely creating a childtheme from scratch. The layout is pretty much done, but I want to change the HTML layout of the Post page of my website/blog.

    I want to be able to add some divs/html and move where the Author and date currently appear after a post.

    What do thematic users do in this situation. Is it a function needed? or do I copy over the thematic php file into my child folder and edit manually and which php file.
    I am not sure on what to do.

    Or is my only options to deal with what i have and style it via css.

    Any help and tips on what you guys are doing would be greatly appreciated.
