Sidebar image and text on a page

I am looking to add an image and caption to a sidebar on a page.

Each page might have a different image or caption. Therefore I don't think a widget will take care of this. I also want it to be editable in the wp backend, so a custom page template is out of the question.

This plugin has some potential [http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/secondary-html-content/] but when I first tried it, it was screwing up my code and stopped trying to figure it out. (But then again maybe I should re-explore it since I am beginning to understand WP and the thematic theme more).

Anyone have some suggestions?

what about using the featured image functionality? there's a great plugin that lets you set up more than 1:

OK, the creators of that plugin just updated and fixed some of the problems in the last few days, and now it works. Yeah!
