slideshow not showing in google chrome

    I am using the feature site child theme on a site - http://movemaine.com
    I replaced the random article with a slideshow - http://post-highlights.hacklab.com.br/

    As you can see their site is using the standard thematic framework.
    My problem is that the slideshow I have on the site I am designing does not show on google chrome - however, if you look at the post-highlight site the same slideshow shows in google chrome.

    So this makes me believe it is some issue with the feature site child theme.
    Can anyone help me work through this?

    I have tried several other slideshows - and I think I figured out that the issue lies with the use of z-index for the feature area. Why was z-index used and is there an effective work around? Because otherwise, it really creates an issue.
