   I would really like to see more child themes, with full on styled menus. The menu for themeshaper.com is the kind of menu I am talking about. Even the premium themes menus are basic looking. Comoslabs has done some work in this area, Btyt has a pretty nice one but I can not get the menu to work in IE7.

   I am redesigning several of my blogs for a relaunch and have been trying out thematic for a while. Now I am far away from a designer but know some of the basics and I am ok at cut and paste / trial and error styling. The one thing I avoid is building menus.

   I think that some child themes that aren't so minimalistic in concept, would attract more users vs. developers.

   Maybe someone out there that likes the challenge of developing menus could even present some plug and play stand-alone menus. That seems like a great way to use the modularity built into thematic.

   Any other opinions?

   There's this tool that let's you select all the colors and generate the css.

   i have been using thematic on a daily basis.

   i will try and do some posts on how i take thematic menu's to the next level

   I'll second that request - I'm currently exploring how to add the "mega panel"-style dropdown menus into Thematic rather than the cascading ones there by default. Essentially I'm looking to show depth level 1 as the primary horizontal nav bar, then levels 2 and 3 in one panel, not individual entries. I know the nav lists can be hard-coded into a PHP include, but I'd really like to explore using WP functions to generate the listings.
