   Hi there

   I've just downloaded and installed a Thematic childtheme called Gallery (see link below).

   I would like to delete the "blog description" field (see an example here: http://MixCSS.com/ - it's where it says "Mixing the best designs on the web.") and replace it with a php script from Twitter for Wordpress to show my newest twitter feed. It seems that it's:

   <li class="blog-description"><span></span>

   </div>

   however, I can't find that code in either of the folders for the two themes.
   Furthermore, the <title> for the page is somehow "blog title" | "blog description" (as you also can see on mixcss.com) I would like to change it to only "blog title"

   Any help what so ever will be greatly appreciated!

   I wouldn't delete the description though, it's good for seo - you can add the twitter plug without loosing it - take a look at this thread..

   There wasn't really anything on the first page. I know that it's not optimal for SEO, but I don't really need it, hence me seeking another way to use the otherwise empty space :)

   you know that the description doesn't have to be visible? You can hide it like this:

   `#blog-description {
   position: absolute;
   left: -1000px;
   width: 990px;
   font-size:1px; line-height:1;
   }'
   and it won't show on the page - but you'll still have the "meta name="description" tag in your source which really is important.

   I'd just hide it and add your twitter plugin to the header as described in the second link that I posted.

   I don't know php. Is it only the thematic's functions.php it is supposed to be in, and can it be anywhere in that file? Will it then enable a widget that will be in the same spot where the description was before?

   That code you just wrote, where should I put that?

   I can see how your method would be efficient and it's really smart, but as I wrote I don't know any php. This really just brings up more questions than I originally had.

   I don't need the blog description for anything, all I really wanted was my twitterfeeds in that same line. Usually I just read all the files through until I find the spot that marks a specific element on a page and then write something there, but I can't find that spot anywhere. I'd appreciate it if someone who knew where that spot was could point out to me where to find it (gallery or thematic, and what file)

   Edit: also where the <title> is located

   I understand how overwhelming this is! I can't really say I know php either - but I'm a great cut and paster.

   I'd start here

   This is a great explanation of how to work with child themes

   BUT that may just muddy the waters since you're already using a child theme. (one that's a bit complex to boot)
   You may just want to go to Chris's site and post your question there.

   If you open your style.css (in your Gallery folder) -search for #blog-description - you can try replace the css I pasted above and see what you end up with.

   Then you can try to follow the instructions here http://themeshaper.com/forums/topic/widgets-in-the-header

   It's possible that in the meantime, someone with a bit more knowhow will just post you the code - but it's good to learn ;-)
