Hi, The goal of this concept is to have sort of a 'forum' feeling blog. I noticed on my website that registering to a forum is a bigger step than just leaving a comment, so I started thinking how to solve this. Then I came across the site of http://www.richmorris.org/, which has a great grid post layout. In one view the visitor could see what 'blog posts/topics' are hot and can easily click them read and comment. So the whole forum idea is thrown away and replaced with a much more user friendly blog structure.

Now I made a mockup in photoshop where in purple I put some indications of how the theme child theme should work. The problem now is that i'm not very skilled yet in making my own themes (mostly editing what I can do).
Step1 would be to get the blogposts display the excerpts in a grid like way like int he image. How would I do this?
I hope someone is willing to help, or maybe someone who wants to make a child theme for thematic and is looking for a nice concept, would like to pick this up and develop this for the community (and for me to use :P)?
