Hey Ian,
I have a question about using customized template files. I want to use my comments.php file, but don't necessarily want to erase what's there (so that I can release my theme as a child theme for thematic). Any tips or hints how to go about doing that? I understand how to import CSS files into my style.css, but I don't get this.

You'll be able to do this in (hopefully) WordPress 2.7.
Hmm. That's too bad. So, do you suggest just overwriting what you have for now?
If you want to release a child theme, no. If you want to release a modification/variant of Thematic, yes.
Is that allowed? I obviously don't want to rip you off, considering the countless hours you've spent on it. I want to definitely respect the work you've done.
