Hi All,
Has anyone had success using Themedreamer(a Dreamweaver extension: http://www.themedreamer.com/) with a thematic child theme? I'm using Dreamweaver CS3, and I love the idea of editing and managing my site with dreamweaver, but I haven't been able to get it to work properly.

i think its better for development to install xampp local server and preview your wordpress theme there and use firebug to make edits. don't know how well themeweaver will emulate a wp install.
Yeah Scott has a valid suggestion there. With or without that wp theming plugin, Dreamweaver is designed to create the html. It seems to me that Thematic was designed with the intention that we wouldn't have to change the markup only the style. I've found that most any customization to Thematic can be easily made with a few simple PHP functions. I can't see how a product like Dreamweaver would be able to integrate into child theme development.
All I could suggest is to try and familiarize yourself with the basic 2 and 3 col layouts provided with thematic. Find the which ones suit your project and create in Dreamweaver using Thematic's markup and the styles that create the layouts.
In my experience with Thematic drastically departing from the provided markup is like swimming against the current.

Thank you both for the suggestions. I'll look into XAMPP, I think that would be a nice solution. I wanted to use dreamweaver to create page templates, and was hoping to just be able to work with a live version of the site within the program, but I guess that's not necessary.
And Gene, you're so right about sticking to the Thematic files. I originally made a lot of revisions and it made things so complex (especially because I'm a complete novice with css and php), so I recently started all over with the original thematic files, following better practices and it makes everything so much clearer! http://sustainablepantry.com/test is what I've been working on, and I just need to make a few more changes before I make it live.
