Hello, If this has already been answered then I am sorry but I my searches where a bit vague.
I am using thematic framework for the first time and I don't want to mess all the clean code up. I have created a child theme and as per the note in the style.css I have copied over defaults.css into the child theme folder renamed it to newstyles.css and changed the @import in style.css to point to the new file. I have then set about changing colours etc, and everything is fine with that. Next I want to bring some of the divs in line with each other like #branding and #main so I tracked down css responsible and it is in the thematic theme layouts folder 2c-r-fixed.css now I realise that I should not edit the values in here as this is the parent theme and not my child theme but how best should I go about it? 1. Do I just make the changes that I want and add them to my newstyles.css file. 2. Do I create another css file in my child theme and @import it from style.css and add the changes there. 3. Do I as with the defaults.css file copy the 2c-r-fixed.css file into the child theme and make the changes to that. 4. Do something completely different. I think all the methods work but I am worried about repeating css unnecessarily and whether I should keep as much in the parent theme as possible to aid theme upgrades.
Thanks for any thoughts on this.
