   Hi

   I created a charity site approx. 6 months ago using an adapted child theme for thematic which has worked really well up until 2 days ago. It may coincide with updating wordpress to version 3 but when active the home page now displays the following message:

   Who's Behind ThemeShaper?

   My name is Ian Stewart. I’m a professional designer, and WordPress enthusiast, trying to shape how we think about the exciting and dynamic world of WordPress themes.

   Back in 2006 I took my first tentative steps into the world of theme design. I didn’t know it at the time but that moment would change how I think about design completely. Since then, I've done my best to change how we all think about designing WordPress themes.

   If I activate a different theme this message goes away and is displayed correctly.
   I have reverted to the basic thematic theme for now until I can resolve issue.

   that's a touching site you have created.

   sounds like you were using the thamatic featured site child theme, this has a custom home page with that info in it. you need to edit that info by opening up the home page file.

   i see your currently using the default thematic, looks good to me, i don't think the featured site theme would be right for you anyways (more for business and portfolios)

   Did you also upgrade Thematic? There were changes that came with 0.9.7.6 and greater that could be a contributing factor.

   Also I'm assuming the child theme you modified was the Feature Site Theme. Have you looked here for some clues on what could have gone wrong: http://themeshaper.com/thematic-feature-site/

   It looks to me like your modifications change the default behavior of the Feature Site and now something it interfering with your mods.

   If you used Thematic's dynamic classes to style your site, adding the constants that were introduced in 0.9.7.6 to restore older Thematic behaviors would help you.

   Also has anything changed with your set-up since the upgrade. permalinks, the admin>reading settings that control the front-page/blog page settings. Also if you're using a static front-page do you have the correct template assigned for that page?

   If you have a front-page.php template in your child theme. Try moving it out of your theme and see if that brings back the desired behavior.

   The front-page template functionality was introduced to the WordPress Core with version 3.0 That would explain why this could have happened after the upgrade

   Thanks Gene, removed front-page.php and all is now normal
