why redirects to homepage?

Hello experts!

Using thematic feature theme since starting with wordpress about a year ago. I been having this problem for a while now but now I want it to be fixed. The problem is that as soon as I want to see post by author or post by month it redirects me to the homepage. I can not see what is wrong here. I have tried by removing the style.css and function.php but the problem remains! I have no clue where to go from here...

Please have a look and give me directions where to look!

I just tried by removing .htaccess as well. Still the same problem with the author but when I want to see posts by the month I get error "Not found"!!

This summer I did change the permalinks to only show the posttitle without the month and day. Can this be the source for the problem?

Directions needed to fix this

I got it fixed!

I deactivated all my plugins and then activated one by one to see if any of them messed up with my links. Started with the most priority plugins and down the list. and yes it was a plugin problem!
