Welcome to the Thematic Theme Framework Guide. Thanks to the WP-Wiki Plugin this is a wiki editable site. All you have to do to help with Thematic documentation is register.
I’ve never used a Wiki before so, uh, we’ll see how it goes!
I imagine we’ll keep the blog for blogging about the Guide when necessary for members and make the home page a static page that acts more as an About Page. What do you say? I’d appreciate any comments or advice.

Sorry, but am I missing something here? There’s no content.
You’re not missing anything, it’s a work-in-progress. See the old, busted guide for now.
Ian, I love the work you’ve done with Thematic. I’m just starting to use it, so I don’t have much to offer the Wiki, but maybe after I make a little more progress…
My suggestion for the wiki (or may be for the site) would be to add a forum, or at least a more robust commenting system such as Sexy Comments or Intense Debate.
Thanks. Have you checked out the forum?
Hey there. Recently I downloaded your Thematic framework but didn’t dive into it until now. A programmer told me I could use Thematic to good use. So here I am. Being a designer with an interest in code I should feel right at home. But it still is an empty home, eh?
Being new to WordPress and Themedesign I hope I can give something back to the community in a while, but for now I’m more like a sponge. First I need to understand the basics / working of the framework…
Either way: good that I’m here

Hi Ian,
Have just recently installed Thematic and would like to know if there is a way for me to add a colour or image in the main header space.
I will confess i am not exactly computer literate so this is quite challenging. Just to let you know so that you don’t assume I know a lot and leave out the baby steps for whatever needs to be changed, I presume in the Style Sheet coding.
Thanks,
Jackie
Absolutely. Check out the Themeshaper Forums.
Hi all, I’m also new to making WordPress Themes, and Ian Stewart is responsible for my interest in it! My suggestion for this guide blog is to expose comments in the main, like P2. For everyone else that’s new here, read The 12 parts of Ian’s How to Create a WordPress Theme and his ongoing How to Modify WordPress Themes the Smart Way which has 4 of 6 parts done.
These two series are essential, and the best resources that I’ve yet found. After reading them you’ll be ready to jump in an hold your own in theme development. After a little experience, you can come back and flush out this wiki
Hi Ian
I have registered as an Editor but none of the pages appear to be Wiki-editable.
hi ian. i started to use thematic recently and love it. i found a link to a useful resource, that might be worth putting up on this guide (a visual map of thematic hooks).

thanks!
I’m a newbie to WordPress and Themeshaper. First I’d like to say thank you for what seems to be a genuine effort to be helpful. It’s truly nice to see in this cynical world we live in. As I’m learning and soaking in this new medium (for me at least) I came across a dead link. Just thought I’d post it here if you’re interested and if not, sorry to be a bother.
Thanks again, love your site.
