Timestream is a compact theme design that turns your blog into a visually captivating timeline. It is perfect for showcasing events, milestones, or historical content in a chronological flow.
About the design
The theme displays a Frontpage with groups of elements emulating a query loop of blog posts. This was the solution to show the uncommon date formats (BCE—CE) I had for my demo content.
The same structure, however, is repeated inside query loops on the Blog Home. It will allow users to build their front page using the Editor or post directly on a timeline blog.
Visual styles and typography
To compose the visuals of a timeline, I invested into a three columns block wrapped by a 1px border. The border was by the left. It was attached to the date element. As the use of images is optional in such presentations, I left it hang on a third column.
For the typography, I used a mix of the sans and serif fonts to generate diverse style variations. Among the serifs we have LT Superior, Crimson Pro, TMT Limkin, and Texturina. The sans serif are the partners Inter & Inter Tight, and BDO Grotesk.
