Parr is a portfolio theme tailored for photographers. Inspired by the bold, documentary energy of Martin Parr, it puts imagery front and centre with clean layouts, space for captions, and visual storytelling.
Designed to feel editorial and minimal, Parr balances simplicity with character — allowing saturated photographs and ironic details to stand out without distraction. Whether showcasing long-form projects, individual images, or curated series, the theme offers a structured yet flexible canvas for documentary and street photographers who want their work to feel honest, vibrant, and engaging.
About the design
The theme pays indirect homage to Martin Parr, a British documentary photographer known for his photographic projects that take an intimate, satirical and anthropological look at aspects of modern life. I tried to capture some of that essence with the AI generated photos.
Because the photography should speak for itself, I chose a bold yet discrete sans-serif font, Public Sans, and the usage of an accent color was left for links and occasional moments, such as the backgrounds in the Front Page and the Alternative Post.
Single Posts
The theme has two post templates: the default one with a top cover section and the post navigation on the left and right sides of the post image, followed by the content; and an alternative post template with a split layout, more appropriate for vertical photos. Both the templates contain a section with the most recent posts.
Index
The Index template has a two column layout featuring two Query Loops, one displaying the project’s titles and the other displaying the images.
