Serial is a podcast theme with a clean, modern look. It’s designed for podcasts, but it works for any kind of episodic content, such as video series and interviews.
The colour scheme switches between dark and light modes based on your system settings, so visitors don’t have to change anything.
Serial comes with 70 patterns, so you can build podcast sites that look and feel different from each other. Some layouts are minimal and some are more editorial.
It includes 8 additional font options: DM Sans, Fraunces, IBM Plex Mono, IBM Plex Sans, Instrument Sans, Literata, Source Serif 4, and STIX Two Text.
Blog posts
Serial also has a simpler layout for blog posts. Put your blog posts in a category with the slug blog. The category archive and each post in it then use the blog templates automatically.
If your blog category has a different slug, such as news, choose the Single Blog template for those posts. You can set it on many posts at once from Posts > Bulk actions > Edit.
To show only podcast episodes on the homepage, you can exclude the blog category from the query in the Index template.
