Simple Realty: A Real Estate Theme for Thematic

The ibsTeam Real Estate Directory has released a monster of a WordPress Child Theme for Thematic. It’s a “basic 3-column, fixed width theme with 13 widget-ready areas that allows you to turn a simple blog into a fully functional real estate web site.” And it’s called Simple Realty.

Now, it doesn’t just look awesome—with a host of alternate color styles too!—there’s also a lot of custom features with this one.

  • Custom header image.
  • Agent header block – agent’s photo, contact name and telephone number – this block can be customized via back-end or completely turned off per your desire.
  • Top and sidebar navigation management widget.
  • Text widget for blog – new option to show custom text widgets only on blog’s main page, single posts and archives (blog related content that shouldn’t appear on static pages).
  • “No sidebar” template to IFrame a third party IDX solution.
  • Custom CSS files for the Great Real Estate plugin to present your property listings, and for the cforms plugin to generate leads.

  1. That is one heck of a child theme. You have to be pleased with what you’re seeing people create using Thematic as the base framework.

  2. If you say they’re awesome, it’ll be hard to express yourself when something actually awesome comes along. Certainly lots of groovy bells and whistles, though.

    I have a few real estate clients and they all love to have a blog, but of course need it to be customized … I was actually lloking for plugins, but this is much better!

Just wanted to chime in and let everyone know that I released an update for Simple Realty and it includes some nifty features like resizable sidebars, ability to assign different layouts to different page types and templates, as well as extended administrative paned.
